Why are Bearings Used in Cars?
1.Reduce friction and wear
Bearings significantly reduce the friction coefficient between rotating parts through internal lubrication structures (such as balls, rollers or grease), making key components like wheels, engine crankshafts and transmission gears run more smoothly. This reduces energy loss and component wear, and improves fuel economy and component lifespan
2. Support and load-bearing capacity
Bearings are the “skeleton” of the rotating parts of a vehicle, bearing axial and radial loads
3. Ensure the motion accuracy and stability
Bearings maintain the concentricity of rotating components through precise mechanical structures such as inner and outer rings and rolling elements, avoiding misalignment or vibration
4. Buffer vibration and enhance comfort
Rubber outer ring bearings: Absorb road impact in the suspension system and reduce the vibration transmitted to the vehicle body (such as shock absorber bearings);
Hub bearings: Reduce driving noise and prevent abnormal noises caused by bearing damage
5. Ensure safety and operability
Bearing failure may lead to dangerous situations such as steering failure and inaccurate wheel alignment
